Good Food Awards finalists announced; lots of locals represented
Last night, the finalists for the first-ever Good Food Awards were announced. Nominations were sent out in August for producers of high-quality chocolate, coffee, beer, cheese, charcuterie, pickles and preserves.
Following months of blind tasting, the panel selected 130 finalists. In January, the winners will be announced.
The full list of finalists is below, and the locals are highlighted; voice your concerns in the comments, but for now, congrats to all the honorees. Among the notable faces are the Bay Area coffee folks: Blue Bottle, Ecco Caffe and Ritual all get nods. The Girl and The Fig earns two spots on the charcuterie list, next to Cafe Rouge in Berkeley. Other high-profile honorees include Thirsty Bear (beer), Charles Chocolate (chocolate), and Cowgirl (cheese).
